| Donate Conservation Districts Funds in Jeopardy
Michigan Conservation District funding is in jeopardy due to the proposed 2008 budget cuts in the State of Michigan. The Ingham Conservation District receives $19,200 from the State of Michigan annually. This funding in 2006 generated other funds to provide over $727,000 dollars of local conservation practices being applied on the land.
If you are interested in supporting the District with a tax-deductible donation, please download and print the donation form (PDF), complete and send with your payment to the District.
We will send you a receipt to use for tax purposes. Thank you for your support! Why are Conservation Districts important?
Michigan's Conservation Districts are "unique" local entities of state government, that utilize state, federal and private sector resources to solve today's conservation issues. The guiding philosophy of all Conservation Districts is that decisions on conservation issues should be made at the local level, by local people, with technical assistance provided by District staff and partner agencies.
The Ingham Conservation District provides technical assistance for water quality and forestry concerns, educational seminars, and annual tree sales. Please support the Ingham Conservation District by calling, emailing or writing your local legislators to show your support of Michigan Conservation Districts and to help restore funding. |
