Swamp White Oak

from $16.00

Quercus bicolor

This tall Michigan native tree is not to be mistaken for the white oak, while they may have similar names. These “swamp” white oak trees do live up to their name in that they prefer wetter sites, and have longer staked acorns compared to the white oak. They are usually more valuable in lumber due to their trait of having less knots.

Seedlings are 1-2 years old.

Height: up to 100’ in maturity

Soil: Poorly drained, moist loam or clay

Sunlight: Partial Shade
